If you have never tired skydiving but would like to do so within a safe environment then T3 has an Augmented Reality game for you. The AR app build by T3 integrates with iFly’s indoor skydiving locations. The app requires the players to wear an AR device through with virtual rings are augmented in their views. The goal for the players is to fly through these virtual rings.

The app gamifies the skydiving experience by scoring the performance of the players on a leader-board. The ability to compare scores and compete with your friends adds an element of competition to the experience. The app is perfect for players who would like to experience the thrill of skydiving without risking their lives and limbs in an indoor environment. This factor can make it approachable to many players would would otherwise find skydiving to be an intense experience.

Ben Gaddis, President of T3 in a prepared statement said, “It’s not only about changing the customer experience, We want to empower businesses to significantly drive revenue and stay competitive in the digital age.”

Its only a matter of time that we see more of such AR apps in the market that will allow us to enhance the existing sporting activities. One example that comes to mind is Paintball where AR can be used to keep track of scores and ammunitions in a heads up display (HUD) letting the players concentrate on the action.

Its project that AR will experience an exponential growth in sports in the coming future.
